Amy Margarida's Artistic Journey
The making of my character and how I perform it

About the Character
Amy Margarida: Emulating Amy Winehouse with a Clean Lifestyle since 2011
Amy Margarida takes inspiration from Amy Winehouse, being similar to the singer in almost everything – from the wardrobe, hair and makeup to the way of performing. However, the actress makes a point of emphasizing her position against drug use and alcohol abuse.
In performances as Amy Margarida, there are dubbing of singer Amy Winehouse. It all started because of a certain similarity: ‘I would walk on the street and people would talk. I was already a fan of hers, so I started to put together the character, with the clothes, hair and makeup, and go to parties like that. Until they started calling me for performances in restaurants, events such as birthdays, etc. Including at São Paulo’s Cultural Turn, in 2011.’
My Stance

“I believe that artists should set good examples and that should be more valued. But I would like people to remember Amy for her talent and music, not for the drug scandals.”
